Like most Huron students, junior Davina Seth is no stranger to juggling her commitments. Yet she finds joy in her History HL course.

“I fell in love with history class. I like it because the teachers are really great and we go really in-depth,” Seth said.

Seth said that history helps prevent people from repeating past mistakes.

“Things happen in cycles,” Seth said. “You don’t want the Holocaust to repeat itself. You don’t want genocides happening.”

Seth said that junior year is “hard,” but she stays optimistic.

“You just have to be okay with not having straight A’s, and then you’ll be fine,” Seth said.

Seth said that students should discover the studying habits that work best for them.

“You have to ensure that you know what (studying) methods work for you,” Seth said. “I tried certain strategies like writing a list. I can’t do that. I have to have a timer for how long to work.”

Seth still finds time to explore her childhood passion — training her dog.

“I’m not very good at it, but I absolutely love it,” Seth said. “Seeing their brains working. It’s just really cool.”

For now, she said she is “really excited” to work on her history paper on second-wave feminism.
