Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what hobbies/sports you do.
A: “Hi, I’m Fiona Bulman and I am a freshman here at Huron. I play freshman volleyball and varsity soccer for Huron. I have played soccer my whole life so getting to play at Huron is something I’m grateful for, and my teammates are so sweet and encouraging to us and are great friends.”
Q: How would you describe your transition from middle to high school?
A: “My transition from middle school to high school wasn’t too bad. At first I was a little nervous, but after a few days at Huron I got used to the area.”
Q: What class is the most interesting so far and why?
A: “The class that is most interesting right now is my Spanish 2 class. Right now we are working on a project about healthy foods, and this unit has been fun to work on.”
Q: What are 3 words to describe your first months of high school and why?
A: “Nervous, excited, encouraging. I felt nervous because I didn’t know how classes were going to be, and I felt excited because I was ready for a change from middle school. I also felt encouraged by my teachers and counselors to work hard because high school is where grades count.”
Q: How has high school surprised you so far? Were there any skills you had to learn to get work done or fit school into your schedule?
A: “High school has surprised me with the work given. I feel like each class has lots of work and it was less of a demand in middle school where we didn’t have much work at all, but in high school I am more busy, especially trying to fit in schoolwork with all the sports I have.”
Q: How do you want to remember your high school experience four years later? What are you doing now or how do you plan to make that happen?
A: “I am going to make sure I go to all the events, and go to homecoming and prom. Ever since I was little, I’ve been waiting to attend prom so I am excited for my senior year when I get that opportunity.”
