Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what hobbies/sports you do.
A: “Hi! My name is Kyndall Campbell. I am 16 years old, and my zodiac sign is a Leo. My favorite color is pink and I love being a part of a community/team. I am a competitive dancer here in Ann Arbor, and I also help teach dance classes to 5-7 year olds.”
Q: What is one class/club you would recommend to underclassmen? Why?
A: “One class I would recommend to underclassmen is AP Government and Politics. I really enjoyed taking this course as an underclassmen, because it taught me a lot about how Advanced Placement classes work and what taking the test looks like. I also enjoyed learning about politics and how the U.S. government works. I was also very grateful to have had a teacher who was incredibly supportive throughout the entire experience of it being my first AP class. Sometimes the AP classroom environment can be scary but it helps to have a good support system around you.”
Q: What’s an interesting/unique fact about yourself?
A: “My dream dog is an English cream short-haired dachshund.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
A: “In 10 years, I hope to see myself as a children’s therapist and getting to watch the way others grow and navigate their experiences and hardships of life.”
Q: How do you feel about starting junior year and why?
A: “I was really excited but also surprised to be starting junior year. It was really reassuring to finally be an upperclassman, and know a little bit more about my future and having more choices available to me for options of classes that could help me plan my future. I was also surprised to be starting junior year because I just couldn’t believe how fast time was going by! I remember being a freshman who was very introverted and felt like I had so much time to figure things out. Even though I don’t have it all figured out right now, I do know that the time goes by fast and it’s important to enjoy every second of it.”
Q: Who is your idol and why?
A: “My idol is probably my mom, because she works super hard and always has. She’s been there for me through many of my challenges, and is a great inspiration as to why it’s important to keep going, no matter how hard things get.”
Q: What is one lesson high school has taught you?
A: “One lesson that high school has taught me is that you can’t always rely on motivation to help you achieve your goals, discipline is what is most important. There will be days where you don’t feel motivated to get things done, but pushing yourself and not giving up will help go one step further towards whatever future you are hoping for.”
