Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what hobbies/sports you do.
A: “I play double bass in the orchestra, and then I dance ballet and tap.”
Q: How is this year’s learning different than last year’s?
A: “The stuff we’re learning is definitely a lot more complicated, and then also, there’s just a lot more workload.”
Q: Which classes have you found the most interesting and why?
A: “I like physics and chemistry, I just really like those subjects and topics, and I think they’re super fascinating, and it’s fun to figure out the problems and work through them.”
Q: Describe something that surprised you coming back to school this year that you weren’t expecting?
A: “I wasn’t expecting to like math class. I’m enjoying it.”
Q: What are your thoughts about personal project? What were some challenges you have faced so far? What are you working on?
A: “It was cool to be able to do a topic I found really fascinating. I think the formatting of the class was a little irritating at times, because it makes people who are prone to procrastination procrastinate, and also doesn’t really give a platform for people who just want to get it all done, to get it all done all at once. So I think it could be formatted better, but as a concept, it’s cool.”
Q: If you could change one thing from your freshman self, what would it be?
A: “I wouldn’t wear those red glasses so long. I would change them to the black ones sooner. And I also wish I had learned how to study. My classes freshman year were pretty light so I didn’t really have to study for anything, but this year I definitely have to, especially in math. The learning curve for that this year would be a lot less steep if I had locked in last year.”
