Sophomore Saturday: Rachel Overgaard

Visruth Rajendiran, Staff Writer

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself.

A: My name is Rachel Overgaard and I’m a sophomore.

Q: What has been your favorite part about this school year?

A: My favorite part of this school year has been our cross country season. It was super fun and a good escape from the stress of school and life. I was able to hang out with my friends at practice and make new friends.

Q: What do you miss about Huron?

A: The thing I miss the most about Huron is seeing my friends daily. I miss being able to see my friends every day, talk during class and hang out during lunch.

Q: What is one goal you have for this year?

A: My goal for this year is to do as best as I can in school given the circumstances. I especially want to try and have a good grade in chemistry and physics. I want to try and keep myself motivated so I don’t fall behind in my schoolwork.

Q: What is your favorite class and why?

A: My favorite class is Arabic. That’s my favorite class because a lot of my friends take Arabic as well. I also really like Arabic because the teacher, Mrs. Basuni, is one of my favorite teachers. She’s super kind and understands the stress of high school. She always has good lesson plans and assignments that aren’t too stressful and time-consuming. I think this is helpful especially now. I rarely find myself bored in that class.”

Q: What hobbies/sports do you do?

A: I participate in cross country and track. At home, some of my hobbies are drawing, baking and singing.
