Cookie Crumbl: the fastest growing cookie chain

Ann Arbor is home to many local bakeries such as Dom’s Bakeries, DJ’s Bake Shop, and Dimo’s Donuts and Deli, however there aren’t many chain bakeries in the local area. But get ready, because Crumbl Cookie has opened a new location on N. Maple Road in Ann Arbor.

After starting in 2017, this Utah-based speciality cookie and ice cream shop has more than 100 locations in the United States and has just set up shop in Ann Arbor. As the fastest-growing cookie chain, the business has locations in 17 different states where they make crazy cookies that all Americans crave.

The cookies rotate from week to week, so you can try new gourmet flavors whenever you want. However, they always keep their famous Milk Chocolate Chip and Chilled Sugar cookie on the menu just in case their customers prefer the classics. Most of the cookies, such as their gourmet Caramel Pumpkin, Orange Roll, Muddy Buddy, S’mores Brownie, and Milk Chocolate Chip are served warm, although sometimes their cookies are served chilled. Each of these cookies came with a decadent frosting or a flavorful topping.

For my first taste I got four cookies. The Caramel Pumpkin cookie tastes almost like a cake and the pumpkin frosting had a hint of cream cheese and cinnamon. The Orange Roll was topped with zesty frosting and had just enough crunch to satisfy a cookie monster. However, my favorite was the Muddy Buddy, it was crunchy, filled with peanut butter, melted chocolate chips and topped with the best peanut butter fudge frosting I’ve ever tasted.

The cookies are all large; I could barely fit them into my hand. Each cookie was fluffy, yet crunchy and weighed more than you think they would. A box of four cookies is $10.98  and a singular cookie is $3.48, and I honestly think that with such unique flavors that this is a pretty good deal. The enormous cookies can be picked up, delivered, or eaten inside the shop from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and  8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on weekends. They can also be accompanied by one of the specialty Crumbl Creams, which are unique flavored ice creams  such as Muddy Buddy and Raspberry Cheesecake.

The shop has their cookies’ and creams’ nutritional information  on their website, a catering service, and is coming out with a new line of mini cookies, which I can’t wait to try! All of these cookies were superb and I recommend getting a box of the four weekly specials to share with friends or family, this week, or the next. Remember, if these flavors don’t seem like they’re for you, you can always wait for their new flavors to come out and try again.
