Huron varsity football finally defeats city-rival Pioneer

On Oct. 2, 2020, the Huron varsity football team defeated Pioneer High School 18-8 in an intense, defensive battle. This win was the first time Huron beat Pioneer since 2002, breaking a 17-year streak of losing until tonight. Pioneer was suffering from injuries, such as star QB Conor Easthope, who suffered a season-ending injury last week. Regardless the game was still a chippy contest. A last gasp touchdown and two point conversion from Pioneer stopped the game from being a shutout. Aside from that happening, Huron played a well-rounded game as the defense tuned in for two safeties, and the offense matched that by scoring two touchdowns. If Huron can keep this momentum next game vs. Ypsilanti, they could be in for their best season in recent memory.
