The unfortunate truth of our world is that it’s extremely fast-paced. Stopping to smell the roses is almost impossible to do when you have a billion other things to do first. Thankfully, we can use music to remind us how to enjoy life. The Pale Fountains is one of the bands like this.

The Pale Fountains was formed in Liverpool over 40 years ago. They were the frontmen of the ‘quiet pop’ movement in the early 80s. The group unfortunately failed to make commercial success after their debut album “Something on My Mind,” but continued to make music until 1987.

The Pale Fountains have a sound similar to The Smiths with a much more bossa nova influence. Their music feels like an old romance movie, especially in their compilation “Longshot for Your Love.” This compilation has songs like “Just a Girl -1” and “We Have All the Time in the World” which encapsulate the warmth and ease of love and life.

At its core, their music is soft and raw. It shows its audience that the world isn’t all bad and that we can slow down once in a while. So if you’re looking for an escape, listen to The Pale Fountains on Spotify or Apple Music.
