Due to a sensor malfunction, the fire alarm at Huron High School went off at 11:10 a.m. on Wednesday. This incident happened right after early lunch had finished, and following the district safety protocols, the building was evacuated immediately.
Unsure to both teachers and students whether it was a drill, everyone made their way to the designated locations for a fire emergency.
Within minutes of entering safety locations, the sights of the Ann Arbor Fire Department appeared on the property. The clear was given, and students headed back into the school when the alarm went off again.
“After this was identified, the alarm sounded again briefly, and we were able to address it without another evacuation,” the Huron Administrative Team said in an email to the Huron community.
