Freshman Friday: Nancy Liu

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself.

A: “My name is Nancy, I’m a freshman at Huron and I enjoy art, music and spending time with my friends.”

 

Q: What has been your favorite part about this school year so far?

A: “My favorite part of school this year was being a part of the Huron Orchestra Showcase and being able to play in chamber groups.”

 

Q: What do you miss about in-person school, other than your friends?

A: “I do miss my friends, but I miss being able to make new friends, getting to know my teachers and classmates, and learning how to be a better community member at Huron.”

 

Q: What is one goal you have for next semester?

A: “Next semester I really want to spend more time volunteering at the animal shelter and focus on my extracurriculars while still maintaining my academic performance in school.” 

 

Q: What is your favorite class and why?

A: “My favorite class is orchestra, because I really enjoy playing the violin and being able to play as an ensemble.” 

 

Q: What hobbies or sports do you do?

A: “I do a lot of crafting and I’ve been interested in digital art and jewelry making recently, along with drawing and polymer clay. I also started taking horseback riding lessons regularly and volunteering at the Humane Society.” 

 

Q: What is one silver lining of the pandemic and how its affected life?

A: “I think the pandemic has given us all a chance to take a break from the stress of going to school in person and waking up super early, letting us spend some time alone to focus and take care of ourselves.”
