AAPS votes to plan for continued virtual learning

The Ann Arbor Public Schools School Board voted 5-2 to have Superintendent Dr. Swift present a plan for continuation of virtual learning. This vote came at the Feb. 17 meeting. The plan will modify the current return to school plan and will be presented by Swift on Feb. 24. 

The school board urged that there should be a few groups of students into the classroom by the end of school year with the remaining students be virtual. The groups of students who would be doing some in-person learning has yet to be determined. 

On Jan. 30, a group of community members rallied in support of reopening Ann Arbor Public Schools. Ann Arbor parents Dan Beard and Mark Flanner organized a community letter signed by over 1,000 people to asking the district to make a final policy decision for the upcoming fall semester by April 15.
