Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what hobbies/sports you do.
A: My name is Alice! I’m Korean American (although my Korean can’t get me very far) and a junior here at Huron High School. I rowed (on the crew team) all throughout my freshman and sophomore year (although not anymore), and I love to play the violin and talk with friends. Along with a string of health science-related clubs like GIDAS and HOSA, I also enjoy a small amount of basic video editing.
Q: What is one class/club you would recommend to underclassmen? Why?
A: If you want to improve your speaking/presentation skills, have an interest in law, and/or want to practice thinking on your feet in a professional setting, I would highly recommend Huron’s Mock Trial team. Regarding classes, I’d really like to take philosophy although it didn’t work out in my schedule.
Q: What’s an interesting/unique fact about yourself?
A: Because I’m double jointed, my left pointer finger is weirdly flexible.
Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
A: I see myself going, hopefully, to a very nice med school. I’m pretty sure I want to become some kind of doctor.
Q: How do you feel about starting Junior year and why?
A: I’m very very excited! Although my workload seems like it’s going to be crazy high, all my classes seem fun (albeit tough) and a lot of my friends are with me too, so I’m looking forward to everything including an array of clubs.
Q: Who is your idol and why?
A: I like looking up to all my friends, they are very cool. Also Steve Jobs accomplished a lot, even though his personality was weird.
Q: What is one lesson high school has taught you?
A: Don’t pile things, like classes, homework, or even people/hangouts, on yourself unrealistically; burnouts hit hard. Be happy and give yourself space to be happy and at peace, even if it means taking a step back from society a bit.
