Summer in Ann Arbor

Summer vacation does not always mean traveling across the globe. For the people staying in Ann Arbor this summer, here are some fun things that you can do.

Throughout the summer, there is always live music playing at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival “Top of the Park” series. There are various dates throughout the summer when popular and local music is played. Not to mention, there are many foods and activities family and friends can enjoy. There are also physical activities and arts and crafts for young kids to do, as well as lots of live shows and movies to watch.

You can also  go to Argo Park for a canoe or kayak trip. You can bring your own kayak or rent one when you get there. A one-person kayak for two hours is $15 per boat. A canoe or two-person kayak for two hours is $20 per boat. You can even rent a stand-up paddleboard for two hours $21 per boat. There are guided trips down the river, but you can also freely cruise and enjoy the scenery.

Airtime Trampoline Park is also a fun place to go in the summer. They are open all days of the week. You can challenge yourself with an obstacle course, a dodgeball match, a foam pit, or basketball. On weekdays, two hours of jumping is $14. On the weekends one hour of jumping is $14. Any additional hours are $10.

Head down to Yost Ice Arena to cool off on those hot summer days. The natural lighting that illuminates the rink makes it a easy place to take pictures for instagram or any other social media. Feel free to bring your own skates, but you can also rent skates for three dollars. Bring additional money for admission. Admission is four dollars for kids, students, and faculty. Admission is six dollars for adults.

Although one may not be traveling to the corners of the world, one can still enjoy what Ann Arbor has to offer this summer.
