I strongly believe that Kobe Bryant was the essence of the “it” factor for me.

Senior Captain Turner Aldrich is in his last year on the Huron Men’s Hockey team. He was accepted to Cornell University to pursue a music degree, and he plans to try out for their varsity hockey club team, which is currently ranked 16th in the nation, according to the United States College Hockey Organization (USCHO).

“I think the best way to lead is through mentorship and respect,” Aldrich said. “I lead by helping to bring along the underclassmen and setting a good example on the ice or during workouts.”

The hockey team does a pre-game huddle after their warm-up off the ice and makes sure that the energy is high during the games.

“It’s also important to keep people accountable and in check so that they are always pushing themselves to be at their best,” Aldrich said.

Sophomore Karsen Kucharski prioritizes his relationships with his teammates.

“A way to show leadership is just leading by example, not just saying it but actually doing it,” Kucharski said. “Also following the leadership from our captains and giving 100 percent at all times.”
