Lydia Hargett, News Editor

Q: Tell us a little about yourself.

A:I’m Lauren. I’m a Freshman. I’m 14. My favorite color is navy. I play field hockey and I like to listen to music in my free time. I like watching sports and going to sporting events. And I enjoy trying new things.

Q: What is your favorite class and why?

A:My favorite class is either Geometry or Biology. I really like both classes but I would say I like Biology a bit more. I find life science interesting and I like the subjects we learn in class such as genetics, Punnett squares, cells, all of it. I really like learning about genetics specifically and we spent a lot of time this year learning about them which I really enjoyed.

Q: What hobbies/sports/clubs are you involved in and why do you like them?

A:I play field hockey and lacrosse at Huron, along with that, I participate in SAAP which is the Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention club, HAT which is Huron Against Trafficking Club and Huron Biology club. I’ve been playing field hockey for about 6 years now and I’ve always enjoyed playing it so I was very excited to continue playing in high school. I’ve played Lacrosse before but didn’t take it seriously so I was also excited to start really playing in high school. I really enjoy learning about life science and biology so I joined the biology club and I really like it because we learn lessons that we normally wouldn’t learn in school biology. I joined SAAP and HAT because I feel like sexual assault and trafficking are important issues that are happening in today’s world that aren’t talked about enough. I wanted to educate myself more about the issues.

Q: Once the pandemic ends and social distancing is removed, what is the first thing you want to do?

A:I would want to go to either a Michigan football game or see an artist in concert. Either would be very fun.

Q: What is an interesting fact about yourself?

A:An interesting fact about myself is I like to travel and try new things. I would love to travel back to Hawaii, I would like to go scuba diving again. I would also love traveling in the United States, there are so many groups in the US with such rich culture I really enjoy learning and experiencing it.

Q: What is one lesson the past year has taught you?

A:One lesson the past year has taught me is to be open to change. Just a year ago things were different from the way they are now.
