Q: What’s your favorite activity you’re part of at Huron?

A: “My favorite activity at Huron would have to be the swim and dive team. It’s great to be around a great team who are all very fun and supportive and work incredibly hard.”

Q: What do you miss most about Huron since school has gotten out?

A: “Since school has gotten out, I really miss all of the people that I normally see at Huron. I miss being able to pass my friends in the hallway and being able to be around my favorite teachers in person. Although I’m still able to learn and do assignments online, it’s not the same as talking and learning in person, which is more fun and collaborative.”

Q: How have you adapted to your online classes?

A: “At the start of online classes, it was a little bit overwhelming for me to be handling 7 classes online, trying to figure out all of the assignments that week, as well as fitting in time to study for AP tests. But now, I have a schedule that I follow every day that keeps me organized, so now it’s pretty easy to handle since we have certain days for certain classes.”

Q: What are you looking forward to next school year?

A: “Next year, I’m looking forward to enjoying my last year at Huron as a senior. I’m excited to be a captain and have a fun and successful dive season, as well as just enjoying my classes. Also, I can’t wait for all of the fun events, like football games, homecoming, and prom.”

Q: What are your future plans for after high school?

A: After highschool, I plan on going to the University of Michigan to dive and major in psychology and pre-med.

Q: What have you been doing to keep up with your diving training since you can’t practice?

A: “To keep up with my diving training during quarantine, I’ve been training a lot at home. My team has daily zoom meetings, where we do workouts and drills as a team. Also, I do a lot of flipping and technique work on my trampoline, which is the closest thing I have to diving right now. I also like watching olympic diving videos while running in order to stay in the diving mindset.”
