Huron students anxiously await for season-ending match against Lincoln

The highly-anticipated showdown of the men’s varsity basketball season is finally here. Ann Arbor Huron (15-1) is facing off against Ypsilanti Lincoln (16-2)

Both of these teams are heavy favorites to make a run in the state tournament, for obvious reasons. Lincoln houses the #1 ranked sophomore in the country, Emoni Bates. Huron has shown all season why they are true contenders, sitting at the top of the SEC red. They have only lost 1 game the entire season.

Another important piece to this rivalry is the potential district championship match up between these two teams. This game can be seen as a potential preview to a much bigger game. They are both placed on opposite sides of the bracket, so if both win their first two games in the MHSAA playoffs, there will be a rematch of this game with much more at stake.

“Michael Robinson will lead both teams in scoring,” senior Matt Wyderko, self-described sports enthusiast, said.
