Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and things you do in and out of school.
A: I’m a sophomore in the engineering program at Huron, and I’m also part of Huron’s Symphony Band. I love listening to music, especially artists like Laufey and The Marias!
Q: What was your favorite Huron event from last year, and what did you like about it?
A: Multiculti was my favorite event from last year. It was super interesting to see the variety of the culture Huron encompasses.
Q: What is your favorite class at Huron and what do you like about it?
A: My favorite class right now is Principles of Engineering. I’ve gained valuable knowledge about the decision matrix and skills that are essential for my future career.
Q: What is a class you want to take in the future, and why does it interest you?
A: I’m interested in taking AP Chemistry because it provides foundational knowledge essential for a Bio-Chem major.
Q: Who is one of your favorite teachers at Huron and why?
A: One of my favorite teachers is Mr. Rodriguez. He’s not only taught me a lot about music, but also about self discipline.
Q: What are your thoughts about personal project? What were some challenges you have faced so far? What are you working on?
A: For my personal project, I’m creating a photo album to deepen my photography skills. One challenge I faced was learning different ways to use the camera, and I think it was a great opportunity to collaborate with my sister!
Q: What is your favorite memory from last year and why?
A:It’s hard to choose just one, but I had countless memorable moments from last year’s marching season. I met so many amazing people and experienced truly unique moments.
Q: If you could change one thing from your freshman self, what would it be?
A: If I could change something about my freshman self, it would be not be so hard on myself. Looking back, freshman year was smoother than this year, and I wish I had used that time to better prepare for the next three years.
Q: What is something you weren’t expecting about sophomore year?
A: Taking college-level classes, I didn’t expect the tests or teaching styles to be so different from high school. A lot of the material is assigned from the textbook each night, which is a big shift from the structure of standard classes.
Q: What is an interesting face or hidden talent about yourself?
A:I play the clarinet.

A: Everything pairs with Mayonnaise.
