Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and things you do in and out of school.
A: “I am a current sophomore and I’m 16. I have two younger brothers and I run cross country and track. I love to read and spend time outside. I also love getting coffee or boba with my friends.”
Q: What was your favorite Huron event from last year, and what did you like about it?
A: “My favorite Huron event from last year was Multi Culti, because all the performances were amazing.”
Q: What is your favorite class at Huron and what do you like about it?
A: “My favorite class at Huron is probably A.P. U.S. History. I have a lot of friends in the class, I love the teacher, and I think the material is pretty interesting.”
Q: What is a class you want to take in the future, and why does it interest you?
A: “I really want to take Humanities in the future because of how interdisciplinary it is, and how it mimics an actual college class. Going to Greece sounds incredible too!”
Q: Who is one of your favorite teachers at Huron and why?
A: “One of my favorite teachers at Huron is my history teacher, Ms. Jones. She makes what could otherwise be such a tedious class genuinely interesting, and shows us the relevance of what we’re learning by connecting it to the present. In addition, she really views each student as an individual- not just a student, but an equal, and treats them as such.”
Q: What are your thoughts about personal project? What were some challenges you have faced so far? What are you working on?
A: “I thought personal project was an interesting concept- maybe a little pointless, but I liked how it was so open ended, and how we really got to explore any topic we wanted to. For my personal project, I learned how to crochet, and I made a bag. Some challenges I faced were not leaving everything until the last minute. I procrastinated a lot, but I got everything done in time. Overall, I enjoyed it.”
Q: What is your favorite memory from last year and why?
A: “My favorite memory from this year is the day of Multi Culti, because it was the day before winter break, so we didn’t have a lot of work in our classes and we kind of just got to chill. We also spent a lot of time with our second hour, which was fun- we brought in snacks, and my teacher made cookies, and we ate them while playing board games. Of course, the actual performances in Multi Culti were phenomenal, and so fun to watch! I also liked all the snow days during finals week and going to the Henry Ford Museum for APUSH.”
Q: If you could change one thing from your freshman self, what would it be?
A: “If I could change one thing from my freshman self, it would be to use Todo Mate earlier to keep track of all of my events and tasks, and to not stress as much during geometry tests.”
