Q: Tell me a little about yourself and things you do in and out of school?
A: My name is Fonsea. I’m a senior. I play french horn and trumpet in the symphony band, orchestra, and jazz band. I’m a youth board member for the Michigan Center for Youth Justice. And I do cartwheels.
Q: Out of all your clubs, extracurriculars, and sports, which one is your favorite and why?
A: Definitely jazz band because we’re learning a lot more than just playing music – we’re learning about how music is made and how it can affect different people.
Q: What is your favorite Huron event? (Multi Culti, Pep Rally, Homecoming, etc)
A: I really like Multi Culti.
Q: Where is your favorite spot at Huron and what do you like about it?
A: I really like the big green hill out toward the bus stop because I have a lot of good memories of hanging out there.
Q: What is your favorite high school memory?
A: Playing Maslanka Symphony no. 4 at Carnegie Hall.
Q: Who is one of your favorite teachers and why?
A: I like Mr. Caine because he’s very chill but also very helpful.
Q: Which of the classes that you’ve taken is your favorite and why?
A: I really like History SL because it taught me to think of History as more of a science than as something to memorize.
Q: What are you thinking of doing after high school?
A: I’m planning on doing a double major in horn performance and statistics or math.
Q: What is something you’d redo throughout your high school experience if you could start over?
A: I would have joined jazz band freshman year. That would have been fun.
Q: What piece of advice would you give to the underclassmen?
A: Don’t take things too seriously. Have fun!
Q: What is a hot take of yours?
A: Soft shell tacos aren’t real tacos.
Q: What will you miss most about high school?
A: Structure.
