The Huron Varsity Soccer team played against Bedford on Tuesday, September fifth. They came out with a win, though not the most convincing. Junior Rowan Grenier thought the River Rats could have had a better game.
“Our chemistry was a little off,” Grenier said. “Some of us were playing with people we are not used to playing with,”
Coming into this game, the Huron team thought it would be a favorable game for them because Bedford was not a ranked team through the week four state rankings. The River Rats were not fully prepared and only came out with a 1-0 win.
“We needed to be more composed with the ball and more aggressive without the ball. We were losing the ball in our defensive zone,” Grenier said.
The game came to a halt at half time due to large storms passing through. The players were not able to go back on the field and play the second half, so the game ended in a 1-0 victory for Huron.
“We could have worked better as a team and been more successful with the scoreline,” Grenier said.
The Huron team was ranked 5th in division one state standings coming into the game, but dropped to 19th after the match. Bedford gave the River Rats a great match and Huron looks to bounce back on Thursday when they play in Dexter.
