The Huron varsity women’s soccer team squared off against Woodhaven yesterday in an out-of-conference match. The Rats took home the dub, 7-1, with Jessica Clyde netting two.

Junior Melinda Mei credits the change in plan to the successful result.

“It went really well,” Mei said. “We connected really well on our long passes, and our midfield was really good.”

One play in particular went really well for the Rats.

“Royce had this header on a corner —The kick was like, ‘whew!’ and she ran into the box and headed it in. It worked perfectly,” Mei said.
