Senior Sunday: Andi Piper-Wagner

Becca Carlson

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what hobbies/sports you do.

A: “I’m Andi, I’m 17, and I’m a senior. I’ve lived in Ann Arbor for just over 2 years now, and before that I lived in Washington State. I would say my main hobbies are playing video games and hanging out with friends. The only school thing I do is rowing, and I really enjoy it!”

Q: What is one class/club you would recommend to underclassmen? Why?

A: “I would recommend rowing for a sport and art club for another extracurricular. I always recommend rowing to people that ask for things to do because I think it’s a great way to meet new people. The team is about 70 kids so it’s not hard to meet anyone new. For art club, I appreciate that they make space for people who solely want free studio time is they don’t want to participate in the activity of the day”

Q: How are you feeling about graduating this year?

A: “I’m feeling good about graduating. First semester senior year has been tougher than I anticipated in all honesty, but I do think that second semester will fly by once I get in all my college apps.”

Q: Ten years from now, what is one high school memory you will still remember?

A: “My first and only homecoming during senior year”

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give to your freshman self?

A: “People really aren’t looking at you, trust me.”

Q: What will you miss most about high school?

A: “Being consistently in the same space as people who share my interests. I do the full IB diploma and while it is hard, I share the same classes with the same 24 kids, which is pretty cool.”
