Despite overcoming a challenging virtual school year, The Huron Emery had a historic performance at the 2021 Michigan Interscholastic Press Association Awards. The publication earned 74 individual awards, breaking the previous record set of 39. In total, The Emery was awarded 13 first place finishes, 17 second place finishes, 10 third place finishes and 34 honorable mentions. The top recipients were Maya Kogulan (16 awards), Mishal Charania (9 awards), Clara Bowman (9 awards) and Allison Mi (7 awards).
