New SAT dates offered for seniors

Even though the SAT might not be required for some college admissions, people are still wondering if they’re going to be able to take it. CollegeBoard has remaining test dates in September, October, November, and December of this year, but every day the chances that all the test centers remain open become lower.

However, Huron High School will be granting seniors the opportunity to take the SAT this fall, on either Sept. 23 or Oct. 14.

“We will do them in alphabetical order in groups of 100,” SAT Coordinator Philip Eliason said. “Right now the plan is to have roughly 100 tests on Sept. 23 at 8:00 a.m. and 100 tests on Sept. 23 at 9:00 a.m. for social distancing purposes. The remaining seniors would be tested in a similar fashion on Oct. 14.”

The test will remain in-person and details on what health and safety precautions will be taken are coming later. The next few weeks will reveal more information, as all this is subject to change.
