While I love playing games like “The Sims Freeplay” or “Mario Kart”, I always end up leaving them untouched because they take up too much time. This isn’t a problem with the game “Tile Snap”. There are fifty levels and each level has six puzzles. The puzzles are made up of tiles that you ‘swap’ to create pairs of three or more.

The game was created by Ian MacLarty and was released on Dec. 9, 2019. Each puzzle tends to take 30 seconds if not less. Even though you can complete each puzzle fairly quickly, it isn’t necessarily easy to finish a puzzle. I have to pay very close attention to the way

that I am moving the tiles. I love that there is an undo button for if I make a mistake and I don’t have to restart the puzzle! There is also the option to use hints. You get three free hints and you can also pay for more if needed. I have completed eight levels and I haven’t needed to use any hints, I don’t plan on buying hints. You can also always go back to an older level, you aren’t restricted to ones in the level you are on.

The idea of the game isn’t new but it is definitely presented in a cute and aesthetic way. The game icon itself is very colorful and the overall interface matches. All of the levels have a different background pattern and the tiles switch patterns level to level. Everything in the app is very pleasing to look at! I also like how the tiles actually snap rather than just slide. The attention to detail that went into the making of the app makes it great! A downside is that the app is only available to users who have iOS 11 and above but hopefully the designer will expand the game.

“Tile Snap” is free to download but includes the option to purchase hints as needed. There are also no ads which is so nice! I hate having ads pop up after I finish a level in other games, I really appreciate the lack of ads. The game only has 50 levels but at the top of the page, it mentions that more levels are to come. The 50 levels will definitely keep me entertained until more come out! Overall, I think that this game is a must if you want a simple and quick game that will get you hooked!
