When you think about the word “cafe,” generally Starbucks or Tim Hortons is what comes to mind, but the word, “moonwinks” is what comes to my mind.

Moonwinks Cafe is a small little cafe, located at 5151 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor, MI, 48105. When I walked in there were 3 or 4 people, and I had to wait only five minutes to place my order and get my food. Also, I felt a homely feeling when I walked in, the place was very nice, neat, and organized. It is near the Huron valley tennis club, Dr. Mathhew L. Schaub Family Dentistry, and the Dixboro Methodist Church. 

I ordered their chicken pesto sandwich, and you could choose from different types of bread, such as wheat, which is what I chose. This sandwich, was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my entire life, because everything that was in it: tomatoes, chicken, cheese, and the pesto blended together very well, creating a mouthful of deliciousness. They also have chips and a pickle on the side. If you go to Moonwinks Cafe, I highly recommend ordering the chicken pesto sandwich, because you won’t taste a sandwich anything like this one. 

I then ordered, tomato bisque soup, and this soup was served to me really hot, I didn’t have to microwave it, when I had taken it to go. They also serve it with crackers, which was a bonus. The soup tasted amazing, and you should definitely order it, even if you like tomatoes or not. My mom hates tomatoes and isn’t a big fan of them, but she still likes this soup. The tomato bisque runs out almost every time, since it is one of their specialties. 

Lastly, I ordered a chocolate milkshake. The milkshake was okay, I definitely expected more, after trying the soup and sandwich. I expected something different which would make it over the top, but it just tasted like an ordinary milkshake. Overall, if you were craving for something sweet, specifically chocolate, then get this drink. Otherwise, they have other drinks, such as fruit smoothies, frappuccinos, cappuccinos, and tea. They also serve fresh pastries, such as scones, Donuts, Apple pie, and carrot cake. The food and drinks at Moonwinks Cafe taste completely original and different. If you want something fresh, and new this is the place for you.
