The mock trial team has been quickly ramping up for their first trial of the year on November 1st. Their main focus currently is helping the new members get prepared for their first trial.

“We’ve been working with the new recruits to make sure they understand the rules of evidence and components of the trial,” senior mock trial member Samer Yassir said. 

Samer has high expectations for the mock trial team this year after finishing second in states last year.

“My expectations are that we’re going to have a good year. We want to make sure we try our best and continue to learn,” Yassir said. 

As Yassir and the rest of the mock trial team continue to prepare for their upcoming trial, Yassir described the type of person that will be successful in mock trial.

“People that aren’t afraid to make mistakes,” Yassir said.

The mock trial team hopes to build on last year’s success and continue to improve. Their Senior leaders are already taking proper strides to ensure that they can continue to be successful.
