Bewon: authentic and traditional Korean dishes in Ann Arbor

This past Saturday, we visited Bewon, a Korean restaurant that just recently opened under new management. Located at 3574 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, the restaurant serves authentic traditional Korean food like bibimbap, bulgogi, and fried chicken.

Arriving at around 1:15 in the afternoon, we saw that the restaurant was bustling with people. We found the atmosphere to be cozy, minimalist and welcoming with soft music playing in the background. After being seated, we were accommodated with glasses of cold water, and were able to order our dishes through a tablet attached to our dining table, making ordering quick and convenient; this reminded us a lot of the ordering style at KPOP.

We ordered the Chicken Mayo Bowl, Bibimbap, a glass of Sikhye, and Sujeonggwa. The total came to around $40.

Amy Yang is currently in 10th grade and has been part of the Huron Emery for two years. Amy is part of Women’s Cross Country, Mock Trial, and Model UN as well as many other clubs at Huron. In her free time she likes to hang out with her friends and sleep. Amy’s favorite movie is Ten Things I Hate About You and her favorite flavor of ice cream is chocolate or coffee.

Jenny is currently in 10th grade and this is her first year on the Emery’s staff. Jenny is part of the Huron Women’s Cross country team and is a part of clubs such as Model UN, BPA, and many more. Outside of school, she likes to bake, read, and hang out with friends. Jenny’s favorite movie is Howl’s Moving Castle from Studio Ghibli and her favorite flavor of ice is mint chocolate chip or matcha.
