The Huron men’s golf team continues their season and proves why they are a top team to watch. Their most recent match at the Huron Hills Golf Course was highly anticipated, as it was a highly ranked local match to showcase the best of the best Huron High School and Father Gabriel Richard High School had to offer.
Huron High men’s golf team controlled the match and earned their first win of the season, finishing with a score of 172. Junior Yash Srivastava finished with a score of 38, taking 1st place, and Senior Dominick Williamson finished with a score of 40, taking 2nd place. With this result, Huron High improves to 1-0, while their opponent now sits at 0-1. The victory had implications on early-season momentum, giving Huron a strong start and pushing them up in the league rankings.

As with any big matchup, the preparation was intense. Coach PK spoke on the team mentality of competing, and to stay sharp, and trust their fundamentals,
“We didn’t prepare any differently — every match is a top-tier challenge,” said Yash. “We kept our focus and trusted our process,” PK said.
The team feels this was a confidence boost heading into future events, matches, invitationals, and tournaments. The strong individual performances helped carry the team to success, building chemistry and experience.
“One thing that worked well was our consistency under pressure,” Williamson said. “We locked in and played our game.”
Despite the success, the team knows there’s more to improve on. As they prepare for their next match, they’re focused on refining their short game and keeping steady through tough holes and courses.
“Next time we play, we need to start strong and stay consistent,” Srivastava said. “We’re excited to grow and keep pushing toward our season goals.”
“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming invitational,” Williamson said. “It’ll be great for the team and a chance to test ourselves again.”
