Q: Tell me a little about yourself and things you do in and out of school?
A: I’m a big outdoor person, I love spending time in the sun even if I’m not exploring. I love making art as well and I’m going to art school! When I’m in school I just try to hang out with my friends and just have as good of a time as I can.
Q: Out of all your clubs, extracurriculars, and sports, which one is your favorite and why?
A: I actually am not a part of many clubs or extracurricular, but I do love YDSA, it’s a democratic club and it’s easy to come to good conclusions because of how tight knit the group is.
Q: What is your favorite Huron event? (Multi Culti, Pep Rally, Homecoming, etc)
A: I’ve always loved the pep rally. I remember my freshman year sitting on the bleachers with all my new friends and how much of a core memory it was. This year I ended up doing musical chairs after spending the last three years wanting to do it and I got third place and got to hear all my friends cheering for me. It was so much fun and definitely one of my favorite high school memories.
Q: Where is your favorite spot at Huron and what do you like about it?
A: My favorite spot is the choir room. I have so many good memories there, from shushing people before concerts to getting to work in a like minded team, it’s all so good. I know that if I’m looking for somewhere to go I’ll always feel welcome there.
Q: What is your favorite high school memory?
A: There’s way too many to even think of! One that really stands out to me is this most recent homecoming, it was sort of bittersweet because I was surrounded by all my friends but it’s still the last of that experience we’ll ever have. It was really nice to have that time with some of my favorite people.
Q: Who is one of your favorite teachers and why?
A: My favorite teacher is definitely Madame Wissman. I’ve been taking french since sixth grade and she’s really helped me enhance my skills since I first had her sophomore year. I’m still not great at the language but I really appreciate her patience.
Q: Which of the classes that you’ve taken is your favorite and why?
A: I’ve taken so many fun classes, but one of my all time faves was graphic design. I loved learning about Adobe Illustrator and I think the projects were such a blast.
Q: What are you thinking of doing after high school?
A: I’m planning on going to art school with a focus on either illustration or film. I want to make movies and characters that people can see themselves in.
Q: What is something you’d redo throughout your high school experience if you could start over?
A: I’ve made some mistakes over time, but if I could start over I don’t think I would. Every mistake is a learning experience and so everything I’ve done, good and bad, made me who I am and I wouldn’t want to change that.
Q: What piece of advice would you give to the underclassmen?
A: Never sacrifice your experiences for your grades. I guess what I’m saying is don’t avoid having fun and living life to the fullest just so you can focus on work. They’re both important, but live a little! Life is all about balance.
Q: What is a hot take of yours?
A: Taco Bell clears all other fast food places.
Q: What will you miss most about high school?
A: I’m not going to miss much, but I’ll miss my dear little juniors and sophomores so dearly. I’m really excited to have new experiences and make new memories outside of high school.
