Business has become an increasingly popular field, attracting many students—including senior Lianne Liu. As president of Huron’s Business Professionals of America (BPA), Liu is constantly refining her business skills and expanding her knowledge, all while nurturing her initial passion for the field.
“Joining BPA exposed me to the broad opportunities in business,” Liu said. “I realized how a career in business would allow me to solve problems while also being creative and connecting with people.”
Liu’s passion for business motivated her to compete in BPA’s State Level Competition this past March. However, leading the club as president hasn’t always been easy.
“It’s hard to connect with everyone in the club since it’s so big,” Liu said. “Communicating and making sure everything is organized isn’t easy.”
Despite these challenges, Liu persevered, helping Huron BPA achieve success at the state competition. In May, she will compete at BPA Nationals alongside 19 other members. Looking ahead, she plans to continue pursuing business by majoring in it during college.
