Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and things you do in and out of school.
A: I’m Leo, a freshman at Huron. I play soccer and go to a debate club out of school.
Q: Out of all your extracurriculars, clubs, and sports, which one is your favorite and why?
A: I definitely like soccer because that’s the thing I’ve been doing the longest. I’ve been doing it for the past seven years of my life.
Q: How are you liking your first year at Huron?
A: I like it a lot. Actually, I think it’s really nice here especially because the teachers push me to my limits and encourage me to be successful.
Q: What is your favorite class so far and why?
A: My favorite class is probably Geometry AC because of Ms. Clyde, and how she wants to ensure that every student is successful in her class.
Q: Who is one of your favorite teachers and why?
A: Like I already said, Ms. Clyde and probably Ms. Whybark, my biology teacher. Especially because she uses paper packets instead of always learning on the computer.
Q: What is a class you want to take in the future and why?
A: I probably want to take AP Spanish, maybe junior or senior year.
Q: What is something you weren’t expecting about high school?
A: I wasn’t excpecting how many people I’d actually get to know. I thought it would be like getting to know people through class, but then I’d just forget about them, and that would be it. I’ve actually made a lot of friends who actually go to my classes.
Q: What advice would you give about the first weeks of high school to incoming 8th graders?
A: I’d say don’t worry about fitting in and try to manage your time successfully. Space everything out.
Q: What is an interesting fact or hidden talent about yourself?
A: In addition to playing soccer I also do track and field.
Q: What is a hot take of yours?
A: My hot take is that winter is better than summer.
