Q: Tell me a little about yourself and things you do in and out of school?
A: In school, I mostly focused on my academics. I do clubs, Women’s Health Group here at Huron. Out of school, I have an extracurricular for the Youth Leadership Council, and pretty much both of these clubs advocate for young people’s health. The Women’s Health Group is more steered towards women’s health. For hobbies, I like to draw, I like fashion, and I love Legos.
Q: Out of all your clubs, extracurriculars, and sports, which one is your favorite and why?
A: My favorite, I think honestly is Youth Leadership Council, mostly because I did an internship at their facility and it was pretty fun. Yeah, I’ve been with them for a couple of years now and it’s pretty nice. Women’s Health Group is pretty new.
Q: What is your favorite Huron event? (Multi Culti, Pep Rally, Homecoming, etc)
A: My favorite has to be the Multi Culti. I think it’s pretty extraordinary. The first time I came there, we had it, absolutely bedazzled it was amazing.
Q: Where is your favorite spot at Huron and what do you like about it?
A: My favorite spot at Huron has to be the GreenHouse because during lunch it’s pretty empty, pretty nice. The chairs are nice and it’s not crowded and wild.
Q: What is your favorite high school memory?
A: My favorite high school memory? You know what my favorite high school memory is? In health class with Ms. Marshall-Diver, and she made us all talk to random people we didn’t know, and thats where I found my best friend.
Q: Who is one of your favorite teachers and why?
A: My favorite teacher? This is hard I have 2 favorite teachers. Ms. Nalepa, I have her. That’s my Bio teacher. She’s absolutely amazing. She’s nice, she understands, and she’s willing to explain things in depth, even if it goes through class time. My second favorite teacher is Mrs. Gadwa, she’s the best math teacher ever.
Q: Which of the classes that you’ve taken is your favorite and why?
A: DP BIO because I love biology and like to learn about human depth
Q: What are you thinking of doing after high school?
A: After high school, I want to be a neuropsychiatrist. I’m hoping to go to UofM, but it’s a bit of a reach. Yeah, go to med school, get my degrees, and major in neuroscience.
Q: What is something you’d redo throughout your high school experience if you could start over?
A: Definitely be involved in more clubs. I think my freshman year I was a little disconnected, could’ve done better. And really be an academic weapon in those first few years.
Q: What piece of advice would you give to the underclassmen?
A: Don’t give up. Literally try as hard as you can, ‘cause it means so much when your filling out college applications.
Q: What is a hot take of yours?
A: Ketchup is honestly disgusting. If you put it on something other than a burger, your actually weird. With fries, use barbecue sauce.
Q: What will you miss most about high school?
A: I think I’ll miss most the friendships I’ve made and the familiarity of it all. I’ll miss my teacher, Ms. Nalepa and Mrs. Gadwa shoutout to them again. Love them.
