Q: Tell me a little about yourself and things you do in and out of school?
A: I’m Maya, I am a senior at Huron. I’m part of the Peer Lab, where I sit and listen to others. I’ve done an assembly at school where I spoke about mental illness and mental health. Outside of school I typically hang out with friends. I work a lot at Glacier hills.
Q: Out of all your clubs, extracurriculars, and sports, which one is your favorite and why?
A: I really enjoyed softball a lot because it was fun to run around the field and catch the ball.
Q: What is your favorite Huron event? (Multi Culti, Pep Rally, Homecoming, etc)
A: I’m super excited about prom but I definitely think homecoming has been my favorite event, but because I’m a senior I’m gonna say prom.
Q: Where is your favorite spot at Huron and what do you like about it?
A: I love the Peer Lab. I like how it’s comfortable there and we can just chillax.
Q: What is your favorite high school memory?
A: Football and basketball games because we get to interact with other people at school.
Q: Who is one of your favorite teachers and why?
A: I really love Ms. Williamson, She was really sweet and she encouraged me to do my best.
Q: Which of the classes that you’ve taken is your favorite and why?
A: Ms. Williamson’s African American Literature class was my favorite. I just really enjoyed the assignments we had.
Q: What are you thinking of doing after high school?
A: I’m going to WCC for two years and then transferring to Eastern to get a degree in early education to become a teacher.
Q: What is something you’d redo throughout your high school experience if you could start over?
A: I’d probably challenge myself more rather than taking easier classes. I would try harder and save my money.
Q: What piece of advice would you give to the underclassmen?
A: I would say pay attention to your classes, you don’t want your freshman and sophomore year to mess up your GPA for college.
Q: What is a hot take of yours?
A: a hot take I have is to love yourself without relying on other people.
Q: What will you miss most about high school?
A: id say the people, I’ll miss seeing my friends daily.
