Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what hobbies/sports you do.
A: I just started recently doing puzzles like in my free time, which is really hard to find free time but I really enjoyed doing puzzles like 1000 piece puzzles
Q: What do you teach and why?
A: I am currently teaching at Huron High School The Art and Design program which is our beginning art class. I do the drawing, painting printmaking class, and then the International Baccalaureate diploma program.
Q: Have you always been interested in teaching?
A: I knew I was going to do something with art that I wanted to make money from doing. Rather than doing commercial art where I do art for other people this way just get to work with students and create art and be around it.
Q: What/who inspired you to become a teacher?
A: I think that what inspired me was having teachers when I was young that really encouraged me to do my art and I enjoyed like being able to express myself.
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: We’ve got a house down in South Carolina that I go to in the summers and like I said, I like to like hang out outside in the sunshine and enjoy my time with my family.
Q: What is one motto you will always live by?
A: To be kind. I just think that if people constantly remember to be kind to others, that it makes everything you know better.
Q: What is your favorite teaching moment?
A: I really like is to be able to put up students work and have the, you know, be an art shows or hanging out and having kids be proud of what they’ve accomplished and seeing that in them and their families.
Q: What surprised you about this year?
A: I guess what surprised me about this year in a good way is that I feel like students are sort of starting to get back to school and it kind of starts playing it’s getting back to being a little bit more pre COVID normal where kids seem to be engaged and be social with each other and more school than last couple of years.
