Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what hobbies/sports you do.
A: “I love to be active so anything that will get me moving. I love taking walks with my dog, husband, and sometimes friends.”
Q: What do you teach and why?
A: “I am a social worker. I teach students coping strategies when they are going through difficult things in their life.”
Q: Have you always been interested in teaching?
A: “From a young age, I was interested in social work but it never really hit me that I could work in schools doing social work.”
Q: What/who inspired you to become a teacher?
A: “My dad is someone who had always inspired me with all the great work he did. I have no clue how he had time to do such great things because on top of the volunteering he did, he was also a college professor.”
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: “I love to get together with friends but I don’t like to just sit around. I would prefer staying active but if I do have downtime, I try to do Duolingo as I am trying to learn spanish.”
Q: What is one motto you will always live by?
A: “Live and learn.”
Q: What is your favorite teaching moment?
A: “One of my favorite moments in recent was when I was able to talk to a student who was thinking about killing themself. I was very thankful to be there in that time with them and help them leave my office in a better spot than they came in.”
Q: What surprised you about this year?
A: “I was surprised with how well our teacher consultants were able to handle the difficulty of a lot of the staff leaving this year.”
