Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what hobbies/sports you do.
A: “I’m a ninth grader at Huron High School, and I am 14. Some of my hobbies include playing volleyball and tennis. I also enjoy ceramics and painting.”
Q: How would you describe your transition from middle to high school?
A: “I would say it was pretty smooth because I knew many people who were going to the same school as me. And it’s not that different from middle school so that’s nice.”
Q: What class is the most interesting so far and why?
A: “I would say my most interesting class is Spanish because I’m learning a new language and it’s going to actually help me in the future. Also if I ever go to a Spanish-speaking country it would be convenient.”
Q: What are 3 words to describe your first months of high school and why?
A: “Fascinating, interesting, and new. Fascinating because there are so many new people, and that also goes with new because there are a lot of new things and classes. And interesting because the classes are very interesting.”
Q: How has high school surprised you so far? Were there any skills you had to learn to get work done or fit school into your schedule?
A: “I think balancing between sports and school because we have practice every single day so I have to schedule when I get my homework done, and when I study for my tests. But I think it’s easy because, with your sports team, it gives you a good area where you can have study groups together.”
Q: How do you want to remember your high school experience four years later? What are you doing now or how do you plan to make that happen?
A: “I want to remember high school as being a good experience and getting good grades, but also having a good time. I think working on my time management skills so I can properly distribute my time evenly so that I have enough for people in my life and sports and stuff I enjoy, but also leaving some so that I understand what we’re doing in school”
