The 2022 Chicago Go Tribute, a tournament dedicated to the 3000-year-old game of Go, took place at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evanston, Illinois. The Chicago Go Tribute was divided into three sections: open, main, and youth. Prizes included cash awards, medallions, and free lessons from top American Go players. Go rankings range from 30 kyu (30K) to 1 kyu (1K) for beginners and 1 dan (1D) to 7 dan (7D) for amateurs. Finally, professional players progress from 1 professional dan (1P) or shodan to 9 professional dan (9P), the equivalent of a chess grandmaster. This year, the Chicago Go Tribute had one of the largest turnouts to date with about a hundred participants from all over the United States, including Seattle, Washington.
